The business world is exciting – B2B, B2C, education, non-profits – all help us uniquely drive positive change in our world. But it can sometimes be daunting. What if you’re having difficulty generating an audience? What if people aren’t interested in your products or services? At first, it can be stressful if you aren’t seeing the sales and the volume of customers you were expecting. But the truth is, it takes time and a LOT of effort to really get your name out there and attract your perfect target audience(s).
The good news there are tools and tips to help you get started – here are 3 tips:
Create Social Media Platforms
Actively maintaining your social properties and creating a schedule of what to post (and when) is essential to your success. The two most popular platforms are Instagram and Facebook, but they may not be the best fit for your business. Keep in mind you don’t need to be on every single platform to see progress in your business or organization. Think of the audience you want to attract, and pick platforms based on their behavior.
By creating a business page on your chosen social platform, you will be able to see your posts insights which include things like the posts your audience engages with the most (and least), the days and times they are most often on social media, the number of users that users clicked through to your website, and more.
Not only will this let you see what resonates, it will give you insights that can help to craft a social media content calendar and schedule your posts ahead of time. By seeing what your followers like based on your social media insights, you will have a clear idea of what you should be posting to attract even more followers and potential customers.
Finding social media influencers that resonate with your business’s values and aesthetics is another way to help attract your target audience. One way to get started finding influencers is through searching for hashtags. What’s one word (or words) that define your business? Write down a few down that come to mind and start your search. As you identify influencers to work with, think beyond the posts they’ll share on your behalf and make sure the rest of their content aligns with how you want people to perceive your business.
Remember, influencer initiatives often come with a monetary cost. Some influencers may charge more for a partnership than others, so determine how much you’re willing to spend and look into what specific influencers will create for it. An example of a post could be a “giveaway” for your product or service. This can help generate traffic and typically increased engagement from the influencer’s followers. This is a great way to show off your product when you share a similar audience.
Measure Your Success with Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a great tool to track your success through your website. It has incredibly valuable statistics and reports about your customers including your website traffic, how people interact with your site, your conversion rates, and so much more. It’s an essential tool that will drastically improve your awareness of your customers, and help you catch any roadblocks that might stand in their way.
Taking the time to use these tips to analyze your target audience will help you create your customer base. Creating a successful business takes time, but utilizing these resources will help you and your business!
