Introducing our new social media coordinator, Amy Lavigne. Amy comes to us with a degree in Communications from Marist and experience managing social media for a small healthcare company. We sat down to ask her some hard-hitting (sort of) questions and here’s what she had to say.
- Do you have any nicknames we should know about?
Not really, because there aren’t too many nicknames for Amy, but occasionally people will call me “Aim,” which is really the only way I’ve heard to shorten it.
- What are your favorite and least favorite foods?
My favorite food is basically anything pasta, especially fresh pasta. I also love tomato soup, but generally dislike any other kind of soup (chicken noodle, French onion, and any other kind I’ll usually only eat if I have to). My least favorite foods (besides soup) are any and all fish, which is a real disappointment to my family because they all love seafood.
- What is your favorite part about working in Digital Marketing?
My favorite part about working in Digital Marketing is that I get to be creative! Whether that means coming up with solutions to client problems, writing copy, or creating content for different social media platforms, creativity is key for me.
- Why did you choose RDW?
I chose RDW because I wanted a work environment where I could learn from those around me. Plus, everyone that I met during the interview process and during my first few days here has been welcoming and more than willing to share their knowledge, which is great!
- What’s your favorite place you’ve visited?
My favorite place I’ve visited is Yosemite National Park in California. I’ve traveled to some pretty cool places, but Yosemite was the only place that I’ve been that has left me speechless.
- Cat person or dog person? Why?
I am definitely a dog person because I am allergic to cats. I have two Labradoodles at home, Jak, who has been a grumpy old man since the day we brought him home, and Teddy, a stick-obsessed, hyperactive fluff ball.
- If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
I’m not sure if this is an officially recognized superpower, but if I could have a superpower it would be the ability to go back in time. Nothing too extreme, but just enough to get everything done that I need to in the day, or to sleep a little bit more.
- What’s your background (educational)?
I graduated in May of 2017 from Marist College, with a bachelor’s degree in Communications, a concentration in Journalism, and minors in photography and global studies.
Welcome to the RDW team, Amy. We’re excited to see your passion for writing, photography, and design in action!
