Minority Scholarship for Communications

The Rhode Island Foundation is now accepting applications for the RDW Group, Inc. Minority Scholarship.

Education: The most positive change there is.

To Apply

Our work includes all manner of online, print, broadcast, outdoor, and public relations projects for clients in categories such as healthcare, higher education, financial services, energy, consumer, and business to business.

Application is open to all Rhode Island minority students who are currently studying at the graduate or undergraduate level (or a high school senior planning to study) any of the following:

  • advertising
  • business communication
  • communications
  • content marketing
  • digital communication
  • digital marketing
  • marketing
  • marketing automation
  • marketing strategy
  • media
  • public relations
  • SEM
  • SEO
  • or social media.

Complete and submit the application, including the accompanying questionnaire.

Complete and submit the Rhode Island Foundation’s financial information worksheet.

Submit an official copy of your high school academic transcript (college transcript for graduate students).

Submit the Student Aid Report (SAR) that summarizes the information you shared on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Write and submit two essays:
1. What impact would you like to have on the communications field?

2. Tell us about your involvement in extracurricular activities, any volunteer work, or if you had a part-time job during the school year.

Application deadline 5:00 p.m. (eastern standard time) on April 20, 2020.

Up to $2,500 This amount may be split among multiple individuals.

Can be used for:

  • tuition
  • room and board
  • books
  • meal plans
  • or other higher education expenses.

The scholarship also includes an opportunity to intern at RDW Group.

Previous applicants and recipients are welcome to re-apply.

Scholarships have been awarded for the 2020/2021 academic year. Check back for information about 2021/2022.
