How do you reposition a bank for growth?

The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod (The Coop) re-packaged and enhanced its small business banking offering to better position itself as a “solutions provider” in the marketplace. This created a great opportunity to demonstrate the bank’s intimate knowledge of the local environment — and of the challenges inherent in running a small business on the Cape.

To differentiate The Coop from the competition, we helped the bank carve out a distinct brand position as a champion of small business. That position comes to life in the “Big on Small Business” campaign. A mix of paid and earned media (plus grassroots outreach) was designed to build awareness in the marketplace. We equipped The Coop’s branches and small business relationship managers with signage, collateral, and a branded sales kit.

We’re helping small business owners connect to a financial institution that learns about their businesses, understands their cash flow situations (especially for the large seasonal market), and builds relationships that complement their unique business models. It all contributes to the growth of small businesses, which in turn helps boost the local Cape Cod economy.
