Studying for a career in the challenging and rewarding field of communications? Apply for the RDW Group Communications Scholarship for People of Color, which includes an internship. The scholarship will help reduce the cost of your education; the internship will help increase the value of your education.

Application is open to all Rhode Island students who identify as Black, Indigenous, or a person of color and currently study at the graduate or undergraduate level (or a high school senior planning to study) any of the following:
advertising
analytics
business communication
communications
content marketing
data analytics
digital communication
digital marketing
marketing analytics
marketing automation
marketing strategy
media
public relations
SEM
SEO or social media.

Requirements

Complete and submit the application, including the accompanying questionnaire.
Complete and submit the Rhode Island Foundation’s financial information worksheet.
Submit an official copy of your high school academic transcript (college transcript for graduate students).
Submit the Student Aid Report (SAR) that summarizes the information you shared on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Write and submit two essays:

  1. What impact would you like to have on the communications field?
  2. Tell us about your involvement in extracurricular activities, any volunteer work, or if you had a part-time job during the school year.
Application deadline 5:00 p.m. (eastern standard time) on April 15, 2024.

Scholarship Award

Up to $2,500. This amount may be split among multiple individuals.
Can be used for:
tuition
room and board
books
meal plans
or other higher education expenses.
The scholarship also includes an opportunity to intern at RDW Group.
Previous applicants and recipients are welcome to re-apply.
